I created this recipe and delicious sauce using my Umami Bomb to elevate an ordinary steak to an extraordinary level of flavour

INGREDIENTS
2 steaks of your choice
2 teaspons Taste #5 Umami Bomb
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
freshly ground black pepper
5 tablespoons mirin (Japanese rice wine)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon butter
METHOD
- Remove your steaks from the refrigerator and allow to come to room temperature for 30 minutes
- Rub 1 to 2 teaspoons of Umami Bomb onto each steak
- Drizzle with olive oil on both sides and a good grinding of fresh pepper
- Allow to marinate for 20 minutes
- Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan, when hot add garlic and steaks
- Cook on both sides until done to your preference
- Just before you remove from heat, add mirin and soy sauce
- Remove steaks to a warmed plate to rest
- Lower the heat and de-glaze the pan with the mire and soy sauce and another small squeeze of Umami Bomb paste
- Add the butter and stir until butter is incorporated to make a sauce.
- Pour over the steaks and serve
