Couscous is such a versatile ingredient and great rustled up as a quick side dish. The Umami Bomb gives the couscous in this recipe a real savory richness which would be delicious with chicken, fish or falafels. If you are going wheat or gluten free this Bomb is also wonderful for flavoring any whole grains or rice.
Serves 6
INGREDIENTS
1½ cups couscous
2 tablespoons Taste #5 Umami Bomb
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 handfuls mixed herbs, finely chopped – I like to use mint, coriander & basil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Method
- Firstly make up the couscous according to the packet instructions and when adding the water add the Umami Bomb.
- Once the water is absorbed, mix through with a fork, adding the olive oil and herbs.
- Season to taste and serve with more herbs sprinkled over the top.
