You do undoubtedly lose some flavor when you omit the yolks from an omelette. But this is a clever way to re-inject some flavor to this classic low-fat, high-protein dish.
Serves 1
INGREDIENTS
½ teaspoon olive oil
4 egg whites or 4oz egg whites from a carton
1 tablespoon chopped mixed fresh herbs such as dill, parsley, mint or chives
freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Taste #5 Umami Bomb
Method
- Heat a non-stick skillet on a medium heat and add the olive oil.
- Pour in the egg whites and herbs and stir in the black pepper, making sure everything is combined.
- When the egg whites are almost cooked, add the Umami Bomb and gently spread with the back of a spoon.
- Fold the omelette in half then transfer to a plate and enjoy straight away.
